The International Wedding Trend Report

Happy New Year to all our readers. Well it is the first day back in the hot seat in the office after a lovely two week break and I am currently coming to you from the sunny shores of Sydney as I’m working with our Aussie campus for the next couple of weeks before heading home. However, I do have something rather exciting to share with you all, our International Wedding Trend Report for 2015.
I have been busy working with Advisory Board members across our four campuses in Australia, New Zealand the US and right here in the UK to bring you the most comprehensive and detailed report in the wedding industry, which covers trends for weddings in 2015 and 2016 across the world. Together with our team of wedding experts we have compiled a report that covers all aspects of planning and styling a wedding, so you can use it as a reference point with your client to let them know what’s going to be trending in our wonderful world of weddings over the next 12 months. We’ve included:
Themes
Colours
Catering, Cocktails and Cakes
Venues and Locations
Music and Entertainment
Luxury Linens
Styling and Decor
Floral Design
Stationery
As well as the detailed 67 page report we’ve also produced five videos which we will be releasing each week until the end of January covering the highlights of each segment covered in the report. Today’s video covers the key trends, where and how we conducted our research and how to use the trends within your own client weddings.

Top 10 wedding memories

Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life which you’ll undoubtedly remember forever, but it’s all those individual moments throughout your day that make it so memorable.
Here are the top 10 most perfect memories you will have of your wedding day.
Top 10 wedding memories
1. When you wake up
Just like when you were little and you woke on the morning of your birthday or Christmas Day, you will certainly experience the same butterflies and feelings of excitement on the morning of your wedding. ‘It’s here! It’s here!’ Cherish these first few moments as from this point on it’s all go go go!
2. Looking in the mirror
If you are having your hair and make-up done for your wedding then you’ll be touched and tweaked all morning. Even when it’s time to put your wedding dress on, your bridesmaids will be helping you to get into it. But that moment you have to yourself when you look into the mirror for the first time, taking in the image of you as a bride should be a moment you’ll remember for many years to come.
3. When the wedding car arrives
All morning you will have been non-stop: collecting the flowers, going to the salon, getting ready. So the moment your wedding car arrives to whisk you away to the ceremony, the nerves can really kick in and stir a reaction. This marks the start of proceedings and signifies that your wedding really is beginning. If you’ve been feeling nervous then you can almost pretend you’re just getting ready for a Christening or other special occasion, but the moment that car arrives it all becomes real.
4. The groom laying eyes on you
We all remember that moment when Catherine Middleton walked down the aisle to meet her future husband. Cheeky Prince Harry turned around for a glance at the beyond-beautiful-bride, while Prince William kept his word to Kate and did not dare look. But the moment the groom claps eyes on the bride, it is magnetic. Relish in this moment and remember how adored it made you feel.
5. Being given away
Whoever is giving you away at your wedding, whether it’s your mum, dad, uncle or stepfather, it’s a very special moment. Be sure to really take your time when you walk down the aisle, taking it all in. Make a memory at the moment when you’re given away – the feel of their cheek on yours as you kiss and the touch of their hand around yours. They will most probably be doing the same.
6. "I do"
The entire day hangs on those two words, ‘I do’. When this moment comes, be sure to savour it and say the words with meaning. Saying these words means a hell of a lot – that you promise to love and care for your partner and be there for them always. A brief moment perhaps, but what a beautiful one to look back on?
7. Being announced as "Mr and Mrs"
After the ceremony, the photographs and the drinks reception comes the much-awaited wedding breakfast. It is customary for the bride and groom to be announced here for the first time as "Mr and Mrs". This normally results in a cheer and round of applause from the guests. Remember this moment and how happy you felt being announced as your new collective name.
8. First dance
The first dance is probably one of the only moments during the whole wedding day that the happy couple has to themselves. No one can interrupt during their first dance as it is just about the two of them. Delight in this moment and recognise it as one of those perfect wedding memories, as you sway cheek to cheek to your favourite song.
9. Watching your guests dance
When your feet are aching and you fancy a break (glass of bubbly still in hand, of course) then watch your wedding guests having a ball. It’s not often you’ll get all of your friends, colleagues, family and neighbours in one room dancing the night away and having a good time. Sit, watch and relish everyone enjoying themselves in celebration of your wedding.
10. End of the night
Boy, what a day! Shoes off, last tipple, the pressure’s now off. You’ll be feeling relaxed and reflective over the hours that have passed. This perfect moment at the end of your big day is one to be remembered. You’ll have that glow from dancing the night away, the tranquility now that any nerves have subsided and the contentment that you’re now married to the person you love. Ahh!

Knightley to marry Klaxons keyboardist James Righton

Let the celebrations begin! Hollywood star Keira Knightley has announced her engagement to Klaxons keyboardist James Righton as fans eagerly await more details on the upcoming wedding. The couple, who were introduced to each other by TV presenter friend Alexa Chung, have been together for 15 months.
The 27-year-old Oscar-nominated actress has starred in several films including Atonement and the first three instalments of Pirates Of The Caribbean. Knightley will soon begin filming for her next movie Can A Song Save Your Life? where she stars as a wannabe singer. The British actress is also the face of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle fragrance.
Knightley’s spokesperson confirmed the engagement on Friday 25 May: “I can confirm that Keira is engaged to be married to James Righton”.
Righton, keyboardist for rock band Klaxons, won the Mercury Prize 2007 with the band’s debut album Myths of the Near Future. Klaxons is currently working on their new album.
The couple’s wedding plans and details of the proposal are being kept strictly under wraps. Knightley’s publicist added:
“We are not discussing any further details.”
Keira Knightley and James Righton aren’t the only ones looking to get hitched. It’s the summer of celebrity engagements with big names such as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel also deciding to take the plunge.
